NeoGenesis - Dimensional Contemporary Abstract Art Painting On Reclaimed Wood

NeoGenesis is the first painting created that fortified the pivot for Billy Rhyze from illustration to fine art. It is fabricated on 100% reclaimed wood that was bound for the landfill, salvaged in much the same I did my career as an artist. This painting is what could be considered the first domino. Creating this artwork rekindled my relationship with woodworking as well. A trade I was trained in during my high school days while growing up in a small town about 30 minutes from the New Hampshire border. The protruding wooden circles represent the members of my family and are elements used to achieve visual interest and compositional balance. As the first creation of an unfamiliar new creative discipline, I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose focus of the things that mattered to me most - faith and family. Born of necessity, they are the reason for the pivot.
